donna summer.

god. yes. in my typical fashion, i'm researching this city for good things to do. (augsburg.)

slowly weeding things out, most likely through continual trial and error. but there is no other way.

i've found the most amazing greek resturant evahh with complimentary ouzo at the start of the meal and beautiful food.
a KILLER DAILY farmers market (but this is europe) but with in the market area, there is this huge, indoor international grochery store type thing, with little kiosks from most every european and asian country. its perfect!
an amazing ice cream place (gorgeous inside, just fucking expensive.) really wonderful italian, that is soo reasonable and has supahh house wine.
a "totally" cute, cozy, modern bar with the most extensive drink menu i've ever seen, a good happy hour, and, the biggest plus, it is family owned and operated.

oh! and. today. i found a gothic dance hall. and thursday night is old school punk dance party with half off cocktails until 11. i know where i will be going on thursdays. i want to die of happiness. just need to find a rock'n'roll counter part.

alexia, my greek friend from school, and i are getting along so famously. we have a lot in common and i've spent all my free time this week with her romping augsburg. we finish each other's sentences even though her mother language is not english. she's so intelligent and i'm able to speak with her about politics and, world at large and my feelings on life. last night we went out to "our place" and talked to the bar tender for a while about the city. he asked how long we had been friends and when we told him barely two weeks he couldnt believe it, saying we come off as though we have been friends since kindergarten. she has inspired me to really work hard for exams in april and not take the couple months i was planning to take off off so i can just finish. i never really considered this until now, because of the dificulties i'm dealing with with the family and whatever. but now after exams i am planning to take atleast a month away. (which i'm going to try to work out on tuesday with astrid...along with everything else. part two of the "sit down negotiations") anyways, i have an open invitation for the summer to stay with her (alexia) in cyprus, and again in august for her cousin's wedding. (oh man!) then we are planning on flying together to spain, to visit larena, after my visit to cyprus.

she will start university in munich next fall. so she'll still be around next year which is really comforting. this is a real, potential relationship, and not just a passer-by.

anyways. word on the street is that augsburg has one of the best mexican restaurants in all of europe. called "enchiladas". i looked further into it and internet dorks seem to agree on its level of yummz.

we shall see.

my goal with in the two years i'm here is to come up with enough information for my own "an ass-hole's city guide book to augsburg". and if i'm ballsy enough: munich.

look at me being positive patsy.
