Starting, Semi-Officially.

This is to be a celebration and a sharing of my experiences abroad. It makes some sense, considering phones will be expensive and I'm no good at phones any way.

And in case you didn't know, I will be living abroad for (at least) the next two years starting (i believe) in late August or early September of the this year. I'm moving to Munich, Germany for roughly 17 months as an Au Pair - which is a live-in nanny of sorts. I will be attending language school weekly and working and living full time with the family. The original plan was to be leaving in October, but when I expressed my distaste for such a late start date, the family (the Linders) unknowingly set out to find a suitable alternative for me. Friends of theirs, named Emma and Raymond with their son Jakob, were mulling over the idea of having an au pair. They've never had one before and would like to try it out. So Astrid, the Linder Mama, explained my situation, showed them my profile and Emma was very pleased and also very excited when I accepted the invitation to come stay with them for a few months prior to moving in with Astrid and her family.

I'm very glad it happened to work out this way, and I think it's ideal that it did. Instead of just showing up at the Linder's doorstep, I'm able to slowly integrate myself into their family and get to know them prior to moving in. Also, Astrid is pregnant! And is expecting in September. So I'll get to be with her through the entire birthing process, which will, I think, be really meaningful and beautiful in both the long and short run.

I'm going over the contract with them this week and once all of that is settled I'm starting the visa application process. Which... I'm kind of intimidated by, but I'm sure will work out fine.

After my time as an Au Pair, the current plan is to move to Geneva, and live and volunteer with the World Health Organization for about 6 months. Also, A.J. Corey may be moving to Europe that year, and I'm currently trying to perhaps work something out with him so that we could live together and share expenses. This could be a very beautiful and funny thing.

That's everything in a nut shell thus far.

Oh, Also! German has the best chocolatez. = ] And I will be happy to take and ship orders at a small cost: that you do the same in return! (no chocolate though, plz. haha) I feel that snail mail is the best comfort in the world, so don't forget to show me some lahvvee once I get settled.)

I don't know how you subscribe to blog's. But if you do, I hope you subscribe to mine because I will really be wanting to hear from everyone.

I don't leave for a couple months, but i'll keep you posted on the progress of everything.

Cheers, Darlings!

Teal, I am going to miss you so much. I don't like the idea of you not being in class with me, let alone me not being able to see you at all for that long of a time. But I love you and you're an amazing person and you deserve to be as happy as you possibly can be and to do everything you want to do, so you should definitely go regardless of what that redheaded kid you have french and econ with thinks.
